Review of the QCAA Senior Syllabus - Economics

Workshop – A practical session designed to collate feedback on the current Economics syllabus. This session will be facilitated by the QETA committee/ or representative and give teachers an opportunity to discuss and review the ISMGs, the syllabus structure and sequencing, volume of content per unit and raise other concerns or key learnings since implementation.

The feedback is in alignment with the following QCAA update:

Learn about what resources are available to assist you teaching economics, including for an external exam

Hear from current students studying Economics at university and the key differences from Yr 11/12 to what they are learning at university.

Registration for the Conference is via the QETA website www.qeta.com.au only. From the home page, follow the link in “Upcoming Events” to complete your registration. Once your registration is complete, a tax invoice will be automatically forwarded to you. If you need a PDF version rather than email (applies for some schools and their Finance department) please email info@qeta.com.au. Final confirmation of your registration will be sent upon receipt of payment by QETA.


There is limited parking on the grounds of Brisbane Girls Grammar School, and QETA suggests parking in surrounding streets such as Gregory Terrace. Do watch parking restrictions and metered parking however, to avoid the dreaded parking inspectors!

For the session relating to the Economics Syllabus (and perhaps for other sessions as well), QETA requests that you bring a laptop computer or other similar electronic device. WIFI will be available for participants

PD Certificate

After the Conference, a Professional Development Certificate will be forwarded to you via email, for inclusion in your PD portfolio log.

Dietary Requirements:

If you have special dietary requirements please indicate this when registering in the appropriate space. The catering will be delicious.

COVID safe protocols:

Please note QETA will be adhering to the BGGS Covid Safe plan. This will include all participants having to sign in via the Qld Government app on arrival and was a contributing factor to limiting the event to one large room for the event.
